Consider together

Wisdom grows through teachability. Proverbs often asks us to consider the direction of our habits: the words we choose, the counsel we receive, and the care we give. These sayings guide wise living; they should not be treated as guarantees that faithful people will never face hardship.

Questions for reflection

  1. Which habit does this reading invite you to examine?
  2. Who offers wise and kind counsel in your life?
  3. What might a gentle response look like in a difficult conversation?

A practice for the week

Choose one conversation this week in which you will pause before responding. Reflect afterward on what changed.

A simple prayer

Jesus, help me listen with an open heart. Give me patience for what I do not yet understand, and courage to live out what I receive. Amen.
